EXPO 88 is a short film with a satirical purpose. The film takes the form of a pseudo-interview in which the interviewer, dressed in a kangaroo costume, engages in a series of conversations with tourists pretending to have just visited EXPO 88. The conversations contain some satirical references to events including EXPO 88, and also serve the purpose of taking us back to that era. The film uses a number of effects to simulate the feel of EXPO 88, such as the use of an old Helios 44-2 lens with added noise, some sudden advertisements and some sound and picture desynchronisation after the advertisements.

This story follows the heroine as she takes a walk on a sunny afternoon and remembers the traumatic moments she encountered as a child. Traumatic memories from different times and in different ways are interspersed throughout the film. video is roughly divided into two sections, one for the preceding memories; the other for real time. This approach conveys to the viewer the message that some behaviors that are considered unusual may be the source of childhood trauma, and that these memories can affect a person throughout his or her life.
